Hello! My name is Alyssa and one of my biggest passions in life is helping others. I’ve been interested in mental health for as long as I can remember, and truly love the work that I do. I’ve worked in this field for the past 7 years; first as an Intervention Specialist working one-on-one with children with developmental disabilities and now as a Mental Health Counselor working with adults and adolescents for the past 3 years.
I love working with people of all ages and stages of life, as each stage presents unique challenges for everyone. Some of the current concerns I’m working with include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, ADHD and more. A key part of my work with clients is building a strong relationship, as my client’s trust and safety is crucial to our work together. Life is hard! Let’s figure out a way to get through together.
My work is mainly rooted in a person-centered approach, so I prioritize creating a warm and positive environment for my clients. I also love including aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my work as I believe that our thoughts shape our behavior. I am currently being trained in EMDR therapy as well and am a lifelong learner, so I love to learn new ways of working with clients.
I am a motivated, fun-loving, and caring person and love finding new ways to grow while also prioritizing my own self-care. In my downtime, you can find me spending time with my husband, friends and family. I also love going paddleboarding, boating, walking my dog or being curled up on the couch with a good book.
